More People Want Bush Impeached Than Did Clinton

Posted on Sunday 16 October 2005

Afterdowningstreet.org published the results of a poll showing that 50 percent of the American public now would like to see the House impeach Bush if it were found that he had lied about the reasons for going to war in Iraq.

Compare that to December 17, 1998, only days before Clinton’s impeachment by the House of Representatives, when an AP poll found that only 36 percent of the American public wanted to see the president impeached.

“A June 23-26 ABC/Washington Post poll found 52% of Americans believe the Bush administration ‘deliberately misled the public before the war,’ and 57% say the Bush administration ‘intentionally exaggerated its evidence that pre-war Iraq possessed nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.’”
